Thinsulate is synthetic fiber, Gore-Tex, Teflon is treated synthetic polymer - both are made of plastic. Most ski suits from such things these days, in fact, a ski shop, you can be difficult to find many things down.
I will not even try to know a lot about vegan, but the plastic typically do not contain animal byproducts. Plastics are polymers, and consists mainly of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Polymers are long chains of atoms that are repeated again and again. Today, most plastics made from petroleum and natural gas are produced, but can also be produced from corn and other biomass. Biomass are things such as waste wood, agricultural residues and wastes, sometimes by humans or animals, but do not worry, the latter two types of biomass is not to produce plastics for the production of biofuels such as ethanol are used, bio-oil and biodiesel.
Outer layers of nylon are usually blends of cotton and nylon lining is often a mixture of wool or cotton. With the exception of cotton, they are all products and petroleum. You can buy almost any ageDivision of the ski shop or store for a warm jacket made of these things, and are often lighter and less cumbersome than the vest age downward - or worse - of the skin.

LL Bean is very good for free jackets. I bought a jacket from them last year, and keeps me very warm. However, it is also sold on the website below carefully examined to ensure that the clothes you buy, it does not exist.
